Farmer Rocks Social Media Stats
Dec 07, 2022 (Westby, WI)
In December of 2021, Westby Cooperative Creamery launched its first-ever social media farm ambassador program. This program allows one of the Creamery’s farmer-owners to create content for its social media channels and show firsthand what dairy farming life entails. Since then, Westby Creamery has been sharing weekly content from Jessica Rogers, and the response has rocked the co-op’s social media stats!
Rogers farms with her husband, Drew, and their three children, Carter, Caleb and Laney, in Soldier’s Grove, Wis. She shares what life looks like on their dairy farm in the form of photos, videos and insightful monthly journals. From their hardships to their successes, and everything in between, her content has allowed the Creamery’s social media followers a deeper understanding of where dairy foods come from.
The program has been wildly successful in increasing reactions across the Creamery’s Facebook and Instagram pages. Rogers’ posts have yielded over 15,000 reactions across both platforms. Additionally, Facebook reactions are up 140 percent to year prior, and Instagram reactions are up 15 percent.
The comment section of Rogers’ posts are often flooded with kind sentiments and fond memories of former dairy farmers. One commenter wrote, “Thank you all for the late nights, early mornings and all your hard work to keep fresh dairy available.”
“Jessica’s willingness to take time out of her demanding workday to share information about this lifestyle is really special. I know our audience, like me, truly appreciates her authenticity and love for small, family farms,” Emily Bialkowski, the Creamery’s sales and marketing manager said. “When we read her monthly farm journal, we feel the ups and downs of each farm day and gain respect for the people who feed our nation and world.”
