High-Protein Donut Hole Bites

If you’re looking for a sweet treat that feels indulgent but still fits into a better-for-you routine, these air fryer blueberry donut holes are it. The secret ingredient is Westby Creamery 4% cottage cheese — it adds rich, creamy flavor while boosting the protein in every bite. Paired with almond flour, this recipe is naturally gluten free, and the blueberries bring just the right pop of freshness and sweetness. Best of all, they come together quickly and cook up perfectly in the air fryer for a warm, golden snack or breakfast you’ll want to make again and again.

This recipe makes 6 donut holes. If you want to double or triple the recipe, be sure to cook in batches and avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket so they cook evenly.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup of Westby Creamery 4% cottage cheese (If using 2%, strain off excess whey first.) 
  • 1 cup of almond flour (Or more if needed)
  • ¼ cup of granulated sugar
  • ½ cup of blueberries
  • 2 tbsp of powdered sugar

Directions:

  1. Combine cottage cheese, almond flour, granulated sugar and blueberries in a medium-sized mixing bowl. 
  2. Divide mixture into 6 equal portions and roll into balls. If mixture is too sticky, add more flour as needed.
  3. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray and add in your bites. Cook for 12 minutes at 360 degrees.
  4. Remove from air fryer, dust with powdered sugar, and enjoy!
