Whipped Spinach and Herb Dip

Balance out the holiday’s delicious (and well-deserved) indulgent dishes and desserts with this whipped spinach and herb dip. With Westby Creamery cottage cheese at its base, each bite will be as tasty as the last. And this dip contains something most other dips do not – protein. One 16 oz container of cottage has about 44 grams of protein! So, you can feel good about whipping this one up for friends and family… no pun intended. 😉


  • 16 oz Westby cottage cheese (You can use organic, 2%, 4%, large curd, small curd – whichever variety your heart desires. Here we used 4% small curd.)
  • 2 cups frozen chopped spinach
  • 2 tbsp chives, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp basil, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp onion powder


  1. In a blender, whip up all 16 oz of your Westby cottage cheese to your desired consistency. (You may have to stir between blends to get all curds whipped.)
  2. Cook, rinse and drain your frozen spinach.
  3. Take your whipped cottage and add it to a medium-sized mixing bowl along with all the other ingredients and combine.
  4. Serve with fresh cut veggies and enjoy!
