Effortless Buttery Biscuits
Nov 08, 2022
This biscuit recipe is conscious of both your wallet and time. With a few baking essentials, and some locally made Westby Creamery sour cream and sweet cream butter, you can have these ready to serve in just 25 minutes. Add these to your Thanksgiving dinner spread, pair with Extra Easy Chicken & Gravy or elevate your morning biscuits and gravy.
Ingredients:
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup Westby sour cream
- ¼ cup Westby sweet cream butter (cold)
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 2 cups flour
- ½ tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ¾ tsp salt
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and spray an 8 in. x 8 in. baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
- In a medium-sized mixing bowl, crack and whisk one large egg.
- Add in sugar and grate butter into bowl. Loosely mix together.
- Add in remaining dry ingredients and mix with a rubber spatula until combined. (Do not over mix. Dough should be sticky.)
- Lightly flour a countertop and knead the dough a few times. Flatten dough to about 1.5 inches thick.
- Use the open end of a cup, the rim of a canning jar lid or a knife to form biscuits. There should be enough dough to make about seven biscuits. (More or less depending on the circumference of your cutting tool.)
- Place biscuits in the greased pan and baked for 15-18 minutes or until the tops begin to brown.
