Extra Easy Chicken & Gravy

Hungry family to feed and no time on your hands? No problem. Try this extra easy, slow cooker chicken and gravy recipe made with Westby Creamery’s award-winning sour cream.


  • 2 packages of powdered chicken gravy mix
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 1/2 can of water
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon coarse ground black pepper (Or, season until your ancestors whisper that’s enough, child.)
  • 3 whole chicken breasts, boneless skinless (about a pound)
  • ½ cup Westby sour cream (regular or organic)


  1. Season chicken breasts with garlic powder, paprika and black pepper, and place in slow cooker.
    Pro Tip: Use slow cooker liner for easy clean up.
  2. Whisk water, gravy packets and soup until smooth.
  3. Pour gravy mixture over chicken.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours.

Pro Tip: Mine cooks in 4 even on low setting.

  1. When done, carefully remove chicken.
  2. Whisk sour cream into gravy mixture.
  3. You can pour gravy over chicken immediately to eat or return chicken to gravy and put slow cooker on warm until mealtime.

Serve with rice, biscuits, mashed potatoes, stuffing or egg noodles and vegetable of your choice. Yummy!
