French Onion Pork Tenderloin

French Onion Pork Tenderloin
Jan 26, 2026

Cold nights call for hearty slow cooked meals, and this pork tenderloin recipe will leave you feeling satisfied and sleepy when you experience Westby Creamery’s organic French onion dip as the key flavor ingredient. The organic dip is notably thicker than a conventional French onion dip and holds up better in a slow cooker. Even more, the meat is laid on a bed of Westby Creamery butter slices to keep it moist and flavorful.

Guidelines suggest slow cooking for 4 to 8 hours on low, or 2 to 4 hours on high. With such a wide range on timing, it’s best to check the meat has reached an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit with a meat thermometer before serving.

Now that you’ve grabbed some organic dip from your local co-op and set the stage for a comforting meal, let’s start!

Ingredients per pork tenderloin:

  • 1 pork tenderloin (do not confuse with a pork loin roast)
  • 4 tablespoons Westby Creamery organic French onion dip
  • ½ stick Westby Creamery salted butter
  • 1 tablespoon paprika (seasoning measurements are approximate)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Directions:

  1. Cut a slit across the length of the pork tenderloin without actually cutting through it.
  2. Season the loin with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper sprinkling all sides of the meat. Let meat sit while you go on to step 3.
  3. Spray slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray.
  4. Slice ½ stick of Westby Creamery butter into 1/8 inch pats and create a line on the bottom of the slow cooker for the pork tenderloin to rest on.
  5. Spoon 4 tablespoons of Westby Creamery organic French onion dip evenly into the slit you created in the pork tenderloin.
  6. Place meat, dip side up, on the pats of butter, and turn slow cooker on.
  7. Cook 4 to 8 hours on low, or 2 to 4 hours on high using a meat thermometer to make sure the tenderloin reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees.
  8. Shut slow cooker off, remove tenderloin and cut into one-inch slices. Don’t worry if the organic French onion dip falls out or if your slices are so tender they don’t sit up. The tenderness of this recipe is part of what makes it so tasty. Serve with your favorite winter vegetable and a starch like potatoes.
