Westby Cooperative Creamery is proud to announce its 2026 World Championship Cheese Contest placings. Coming in second place out of 124 entries in the cultured dairy dips category was Westby’s conventional French onion dip. A tangy complement to crunchy snacks, baked potatoes or veggies, this classic take on flavored sour cream starts with fresh milk from our small family farms and ends on your kitchen table having been crafted to deliver bold flavor with a creamy, smooth texture.

Of 27 entries, Westby’s conventional 2% small curd cottage cheese took third place. And, coming in a solid seventh place, was Westby’s conventional 4% small curd cottage cheese out of 26 entries. “To earn two top three finishes in the World Championship Cheese Contest is an incredible testament to our team’s dedication to producing finely crafted cultured dairy,” Emily Bialkowski, sales and marketing manager, said. “Every batch is run through rigorous product testing not only for food safety, but for quality, making our dairy foods consistently world class when they hit grocery shelves.”

The gold medal winning dip earned 99.6 points with Westby’s French onion dip sliding in just under that at 99.55 out of 100 possible points.

Since 1957, artisan cheesemakers have sought gold medal wins at the World Championship Cheese Contest, which is held every other year and attracts the world’s best cheeses, butter, cultured products and dry dairy ingredients.
