Creamery Employees Give Back This Holiday Season
Nov 20, 2023 (Westby, WI)
Westby Cooperative Creamery employees hand delivered 1,961 non-perishable items to Bethel Butikk on Wednesday, Nov. 15. Bethel Butikk is a three-in-one community service program in Westby, Wis. Its services include a thrift shop, food pantry and mission assistance program.
The food drive was organized by the Creamery’s Workforce Culture Committee as a way to give back for the holiday season – and spark some friendly competition. For the past month, each department competed against each other to bring in the most items. “It’s awesome to see our team rally together to give back to the community that our farmers, employees and their families live in,” Westby Creamery General Manager JD Greenwalt said.
Bethel Foundation and Marketing Director Courtney Moser stated the food pantry serves about 400 people from 20 different zip codes each month, and they are expecting even more over the next couple months with the holidays. “Our program is made possible by donors, supporters and incredible community partners, including Westby Co-op Creamery, who help us provide necessary food and personal care products for our neighbors in need,” Moser said.
The Bethel Butikk food pantry is an income-based program that allows for eligible families or individuals to select food products on a monthly basis. Donations of canned, non-perishable food products are accepted at all times.
