Dip Takes the Gold in 2021
Aug 13, 2021 (Westby, WI)
The Wisconsin State Fair Dairy Promotions Board awarded First Place to Westby brand French Onion Dip. The sour-cream-based dairy dip was one of 40 product class winners in the 2021 State Fair Dairy Products Contest.
The award was presented at the State Fair on Thursday, Aug. 12 during the 2021 Blue Ribbon Dairy Products Auction. This auction raises funds for student scholarships and dairy promotions. This year, two pounds of Westby French Onion Dip raised $600 for those scholarships thanks to Dairyland Packaging.
“We’re very proud to accept this award on behalf of the family dairy farm member-owners of Westby Cooperative Creamery. The quality of Westby brand dairy products begins with the highest-quality milk from their farms,” Westby Creamery Plant Manager Ryan O’Donnell said. “As one of the oldest dairy cooperatives in the state of Wisconsin, an award from our own State Fair is especially gratifying.”
Westby Cooperative Creamery has been in continual operation since 1903 and is unique in that it accepts both organic and conventional milk from its patron-member-owners. The Westby Creamery dairy foods include cottage cheeses, sour creams, dairy dips, yogurts, butter, cheese curds and other cheese products.
Westby Cooperative Creamery dairy products are widely distributed in the Upper Midwest. To find a store near you, visit our Store Locator and enter your zip code. Or, stop by the Westby Creamery Cheese Store at 206 South Main Street, Westby, Wisconsin.
