Westby Creamery Hosts Ag Women’s Network
Jan 21, 2020 (Westby, WI)
Most ladies enjoy a night out, and the women of agriculture are no exception. For this reason, Westby Cooperative Creamery was excited to host the Vernon County Ag Women’s Network Jan. 20. The event featured ag trivia, prizes and a tray of delicious Westby Creamery snacks.
Any woman who works, or has worked, in the ag industry, whether in feed sales, farming, production or otherwise, is welcome to attend the monthly get-together. And you don’t have to live in Vernon County to participate. “We currently have attendees that live in Vernon, Crawford and Monroe Counties. We’re absolutely open to any ag women who would like to attend,” Network Co-Founder Dani Heisler said.
The Ag Women’s Network meets once a month about 10 months out of the year and tries to keep the gatherings lively by hosting speakers, doing tours and scheduling fun activities, such as wreath building at Christmas. There are no fees to attend – other than if an activity requires supplies – and the events are usually in Vernon County.
Heisler is pleased with how the network has opened opportunities for the women who attend. “The group has been something very positive in many ag women’s life, especially recently when the industry has thrown us a curveball. We can rely on having the connections and comradery, and the excitement of learning about what new projects we each are working on next. It’s been a really fulfilling adventure,” she said. “Honestly, after every meeting, I spend the next couple days just smiling!”
If you or a woman you know could use a monthly pick-me-up feel free to check out the Vernon County Ag Women’s Network on Facebook or email Heisler at daniheisler@hotmail.com.
